FULL SHOW: Venezuela signs oil deals, wins gold appeal

The Venezuelan Constituent Assembly has approved a law to sign new oil deals and President Nicolas Maduro’s government has won a UK appeal over Venezuelan gold. RT America’s Rachel Blevins reports. The United States has introduced a new round of sanctions against Iran. This time, the sanctions target Iran’s financial institutions. While the US government insists the initiative is to stop funds from being used for what it calls “malign activities,” some say it will do more harm than good. RT America’s Alex Mihailovich has the story. Meanwhile, the Arctic North is heating up as the world’s superpowers compete to build the largest and most powerful ships, known as “icebreakers.” The United States is pondering how to keep an eye on China and Russia while making sure the only two icebreakers it has on hand remain in operation. RT America’s Julie Varughese has the story. Protesters hit Minneapolis streets after former police officer Derek Chauvin posted a $1 million bail in the George Floyd case. The FBI announced it uncovered a plot by anti-government militia members in Michigan to abduct the state’s governor. RT America’s John Huddy has the details. Plus, the US Department of Defense has awarded $600 million to several well-known companies to begin the government’s 5G experimentation, including testing at five US military bases. Meanwhile, the US Space Development Agency has chosen four contractors to build the first-ever 28 data relay satellites.
